Members of the UPV team participated in a race to support ‘La Lucha de Abril’ research.

On April 14, the Mossos d’Esquadra solidarity race was held. Following the line of the last two years, the proceeds from the race were entirely directed to the financing of the “La Lucha de Abril” project, a non-profit initiative that seeks financing through solidarity events and sponsorships to maintain the research of Spastic Paraparesis type 52 (SPG52), an ultra-rare genetic disease that affects only 2 people in Spain and 50 worldwide.

The Mossos d’Esquadra race has managed to raise up to €46,087.38 in the previous two years, and it is expected that the event will increase its figure. The research is led by ICREA researcher Miguel Chillón from the Institute of Neurosciences of the UAB (INc) and Vall d’Hebron (VHIR), and by the professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the UAB Assumpció Bosch.

Members of the technical team participated in the event that took place in Badalona last Sunday.
